MILANI COLOR STATEMENT LIPSTICKS- PINKS Lip swatches, reviews #paintedlipsproject

Yes I know am back with more lipsticks. Truthfully? I hoard them! I love lipsticks simply because for a lazy bone like me when it comes to every day makeup, I realize that just a hint of powder and well groomed brows plus that dash of bold lip colour gives me a glammed  up look pronto.
Also I wear prescription lenses so after  very detailed eye makeup ( or any at all), I end up donning my glasses  and the next thing my beautifully done eye makeup is
playing a disappearing act on poor old me!.
So I just reach for my lipstick to remedy the “no makeup” look!
Okay enough of me trying to explain myself already, back to the post!
So the Milani colour statement lipsticks line also consist of pink shades (in fact Milani has so many pink shades in their line) with newer ones coming out every now and then; sorry Milani, wallet can’t keep up.
My other grouse is that some of the shades are so similar that if you get one you might decide to skip that next similar shade
Also unlike Mac lipsticks, the texture is not printed at the bottom so you really can’t tell what finish it as until you break open the seal and look at it or in some cases have to swatch it.
I have previously reviewed the nudes and browns, please click here.
These I purchased and have collected over time to the point that there are now new shades I do not have and shades I have presently that have probably been discontinued (they are not available on the Milani website any more).
With each description and review I have included the description from the Milani website in italics

Flirty Fuchsia
This is an awesome glossy hot red pink with a violet-purple reflective quality to it and a vinyl finish that I am so in love with. It is a unique shade and I love it. I always get complements on this shade whenever I wear it.
It’s not available on the Milani website. It has been discontinued but it possibly is still available with some retailers here locally. There is usually an understandable lag in product release and discontinuation here for most product lines) so if you love this shade go get it and some backup too!

Rose Hip-described as neon pink, this is a cool toned bright pink also creamy however with a thicker consistency. It is a very pigmented, bold and daring pop of colour. It is a very popular shade and quite unique.

It has been raved to be a dupe for MAC’s Candy yum yum. Well for a drugstore brand I can’t shout I however leave you to decide on that.

Plumrose- though it is described as a rich mauve, it is a brownish pink lipstick that would lean nude pink on some skin tones. It’s a “safe “ pink for people who want to wear pink and do not want a bold all out colour

Fruit punch described simply as “bright pink

This is a creamy warm coral-pink that has peachy undertones it is similar to Rose amour in color intensity only that the latter is more cool toned.

Pink frost- (metallic) described as shimmering light pink. When I saw this lipstick, I was left wondering, what’s the plan? It was shimmery- metallic applying unevenly with little or no colour pay off on my lips. But as always when I have a strange lipstick like this I try to work it in with other lipsticks to create a custom look and I noticed it worked great as a lip highlight, especially for my darker toned lipsticks I apply this in the center to make them more wearable for me.

Read on to see how I make this lipstick work

Hot Pink Rage – described as vivid yellow pink it is also another bright pink similar to rose hip however has a semi- matte feel.

Rose Amour- a medium blue pink similar to fruit punch but (fruit punch is more peachy and warm toned) creamy consistency pigmentation is average good but may need to be layered a bit to achieve the opacity that is required. It is cool toned therefore may need to be worked in to suit women with deeper skin tones. A classic Barbie doll pink

My favorites would be flirty fuchsia, Plumrose and rose hip.
NB I am sorry if I looked morose in some of the pictures. I was tired and the ambient light was playing tricks on me, but I was determined to get to the finish line!
