For the purpose of this post I will be reviewing and lip-swatching Matte Naked, Diva, Orchid, Glam, Passion and Confident.

Matte Naked

Mauvy brown nude that is great for all skin tones without making me look like a golliwog. I find it a perfect everyday nude wear, not drying to the lips at all. This is a lipstick I reach for both on those lazy makeup days and when a bold eye makeup would require only subtle attention to the lips.

Matte Diva

This is your quintessential in-your-face light girly pink that is both playful and Haute. Whenever I wear this shade I always get compliments.
It has been compared to MAC Candy yum yum, I would probably swatch the two for you guys and see how that goes.

Matte Orchid -
This is a more demure blue toned pink leaning towards Fuchsia and more wearable for most skin tones than Matte Diva.it has been compared to MAC's Flat Out Fabulous. This shade gives a sophisticated/sexy look when I wear it, I just imagine my Insta-ready pose,  lol selfie mode activated!

Matte Glam

This shade is gorgeousness personified! It is much talked about dupe to MAC heroine and a tad bit more wearable because it has a wine pink undertone. It wears evenly leaving behind a gorgeous stain.  It is a unique shade that is always sold out.  I had to wait 2 weeks for this shade to come in after I had gotten the other shades. As of this writing, this shade is out of stock on the website.

Matte Passion

This is a sunset orange shade with brick red undertones. It is a lovely shade for women of colour especially. It is so wearable that I usually require almost no lip liner.
For those that find Mac's Lady Danger too "Dangerous", you will totally be able to pull this off!

Matte Confident

This is an awesome deep red shade  that is suitable for all skin tones due to its cool undertones.
It's a great and safe red shade for the red-cautious, blending to suit the wearers skin tone.

Though the pigmentation of these mattes are intense, the lighter shades may require a few extra swipes to achieve full opacity. They can also settle in fine lines so lip exfoliation prior to their application (and any matte lip product for that matter is important).
The first time I tried these lipsticks, I used a lip balm underneath and found they had a powdery feel and seemed not to adhere to my lips with some slight feathering . I then exfoliated, applied lip balm and gently wiped this off before applying the lipstick and it worked perfectly well!
They are not moisturising as the name may imply but are not drying either.

Overall I am absolutely loving these matte shades from  Milani.  From the non-drying formula to the intense pigmentation. They wear  comfortably and evenly for about 5 hours remaining true to colour without any flakiness or dryness.
The watermelon fragrance of the colour statement lipsticks has also been replaced with a mild vanilla scent like MAC lipsticks.
They are available at Milani retailers for N2000.

Till my next post...
